The La Pata Avenue Mitigation Project restored two acres of riparian vegetation in Orange County, California. Due to severe erosion in the project area, creation of a new stream channel was required. The project included grading/recontouring, stabilization of the stream banks through installation of natural erosion control devices (i.e., coconut blankets and vertical mulch), container plant/pole-cutting installation, supplemental irrigation, and ongoing weed maintenance.
